First chillies appearing

The first chillies are starting to appear in the green house at the allotment. This variety is ‘Apache’.

At the allotment we have an greenhouse full of chillies. For 2019 we are growing: Apache, Cayenne, Spaghetti and Jalapeno chillies.

We have dabbled with growing super hot chillies in the past, but have decided to stick with those suitable for general cooking this year. However, Apache do still have a pretty good kick!

We will be using these to make chilli jam, chutney, hot sauce as well adding to everyday cooking.
